Hi, The bab2266cu heat to around 200 degrees, which is more than enough for a curling tong. Straighteners tend to get hotter, but the temperature straighteners get to is not needed for curling so much. Kind Regards

It should work without a voltage convertor. You will just need a 2 pin mains adaptor.

I've recently bought a pair of the Babyliss 38mm tongs. Why do I get a straight kink in my hair when i curl it? how long do you leave it in yourhair for? Thanks

It really does depend on the lenght and type of hair that you have. It has 25 heat settings, 25 for afro and 1 for fine hair. You only have to leave it on for a couple of seconds.
Also if you have quite short hair you might need a smaller diameter Curling Tong to make the curls come out more.
